NUAMPS Video Production

The past few months have been an busy and productive for NUAMPS  with video productions. In February, NUAMPS captured Northwestern University Jazz Orchestra’s second concert of the year, featuring music composed exclusively by the Bienen School of Music’s new jazz faculty members, showcasing their skills as writers of big band music.

On Saturday, May 9, NUAMPS will be recording part of the upcoming Pick-Staiger Concert Hall series showcasing the Northwestern University Symphonic Choir and Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Ottorino Respighi’s, Pini di Roma (Pines of Rome), Carlisle Floyd’s, “Ain’t It a Pretty Night?” from Susannah and Carmina Burana.

In addition to the shows above NUAMPS will continue a tradition of capturing the 78th Annual Waa-Mu show “One For the Books” in the format of two different features. The first part is a behind-the-scenes look at Northwestern University’s student led production, from the three months of pre-production, up to the show’s performance week in early May of 2009 at Cahn Auditorium. This documentary will be produced for University Relations, with the intent of being included in the program lineup for Northwestern’s presence on the Big Ten Network. Comprised of interviews with the  show’s writers, performers, directors, and producers, the interviews will chronicle the beginning of the production and performance cycle, interviews immediately after the show opens. The second part will be a full-scale five-camera high-definition recording of the concert event enhancing events chronicled in the documentary piece.
